Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) is concerned with the management of disorders of speech, language, communication and swallowing in children and adults.

At University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (HGS), the Adult Speech and Language Therapy team works with inpatients and outpatients with speech, language, voice and swallowing difficulties. These difficulties can be caused by a wide range of conditions, including stroke, head injuries, head and neck cancer, progressive and degenerative conditions, dementia, and ear, nose and throat (ENT) problems.

Our friendly team is made up of therapists, technical instructors and administrative staff. We cover the three main hospital sites: Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital, as well as Solihull Community Service
