The gastroenterology and nutrition support dietitians provide dietary advice to both in and out patients, with a wide variety of gastrointestinal conditions.  Our aim is to maximise the nutritional status of our patients and support the management of any gastrointestinal symptoms.

We have outpatient clinics at Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals that provide support for a number of gastro intestinal conditions including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, coeliac disease, intestinal failure, irritable bowel syndrome and other functional gut disorders.   We also support some consultant clinics and run patient education group sessions for Coeliac disease.

We provide inpatient care at Heartlands and Good Hope hospitals for the intensive care unit and wards specialising in gastroenterological diseases and gastrointestinal and general surgery as well supporting the Nutrition team in managing patients who review intravenous nutrition.

We also  provide education and training to other health care professionals within the trust.
